PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Thai-German Energy Efficiency Promotion Project (ENEP) supported the Department of Energy Development and Promotion (DEDP) in its efforts to promote energy conservation in large factories and buildings in accordance with the Thai Energy Conservation Promotion Act of 1992.
To achieve this goal the project addressed five crucial issues for a successful implementation of energy conservation measures:
(1) Training programs to increase the skills of energy managers, consultants and plant personnel,
(2) demonstration projects to introduce new energy efficient technologies in the Thai market,
(3) Technical information services to provide information on energy efficient technology and best practices,
(4) capacity building programs to strengthen the core functions of the Department of Energy Development and Promotion and
(5) Public Private Partnership initiatives to encourage private sector involvement by creating a market for energy efficient technologies and services
