October 1967 – October 1971
At the request of the Kingdom of Thailand, 36 pressure dolphins were constructed at the Port of Bangkok in the Chao Praya River in the framework of Thai-German Technical Assistance. The company August Prien – commissioned by the German Corporation for Technical Assistance to Developing Countries (GAWI) – was responsible for providing the preparatory consulting work as well as the design and the supervision of the local construction work. Finally, on October 6, 1971 when the Certificate of Maintencance was handed over to Capt Lapo Isarangkoon Na Ayuthya the dolphins became property of the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT).
