MRA MOU

At the Annual General Meeting of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN) was organized in Stockholm, Sweden during 10 – 13 October 2017, there were about 30 participants from 20 members of the Type I Eco-labelling schemes included Australia, Brazil, China, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hongkong R.O.C, India, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, Sweden, Taiwan R.O.C, Thailand, Ukraine, USA (North America).

The first day was an international conference was organized by the hosting organization (Nordic Swan Ecolabel). The second day was provided for a social day which participants were invited to look around Stockholm and networking with the highlight of visiting retailer store which sells many eco-labelled products. The third and fourth days were the GEN meeting, special presentations and workshops, which the major discussion of this year was about establishment of the World Ecolabel Day, and selection of potential indicators for measurement of impacts and progress of Type I Ecolabelling.

On day 3 (12 October 2017),  cooperation of members through MRA/MOU/Agreement signing ceremonies held in this event included:

  1. Agreement on common criteria of projectors between Japan Eco Mark and Thai Green Label
  2. Agreement on common criteria of scanners between Japan Eco Mark and China Environmental United Certification Center
  3. MRA on cooperation between German Blue Angel and Thai Green Label
  4. MOU on cooperation between German Blue Angel and SIRIM Eco-label
Special Presentation on “Cooperation between GIZ Thailand and GEN” by Mr. Thomas Lehmann, Project Director, GIZ Thailand
  • Mr. Lehmann presented about the 3 phases of GIZ project (SCP4LCE, Advance SCP, and SCP Outreach) focusing on the collaboration with Type I eco-labels and GEN, project activities supporting GEN activities, and planned involvement of GEN in the SCP Outreach project.
