Following the first activity which trained the agricultural extension workers on specialized skills in sufficiency economy and value chain approaches, the second activity in Dili, Timor-Leste during 3-12 October 2016, aims to improve their role and capacity in working with target farmer groups. The Department of Agricultural Extension (DOA) and the Capacity Building and Study Center for Community-Based Resources Management, Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University (CRC-STOU) Thailand provided technical inputs on farm assessment tools and innovations for better subsistence such as organic fertilizers and stove making. Through methods of demonstrations and field practice in the 4 villages, the extension workers will be able to support the farmers to increase their production and gain higher incomes. The activity was supported by TICA and GIZ Timor-Leste under the IEP project.
