"SEAMEO-VOCTECH and RECOTVET Launch Learning Highlights to Enhance TVET Personnel Knowledge for Digitalisation and Industry 4.0"
The SEAMEO Regional Centre for Vocational and Technical Education and Training (SEAMEO VOCTECH) and GIZ’s Regional Cooperation for TVET in ASEAN (RECOTVET) understand the importance of keeping up with the latest trends and demands in the rapidly changing world of work. That is why we are thrilled to announce the launch of our Learning Highlights series, offering the opportunity to enhance knowledge and competencies towards digitalisation and Industry 4.0.
Learning Highlights are standalone learning units that have been extracted from the existing In-Service Training Modules “Fit for Industry 4.0” series, focusing on specific topics, and designed to be efficient and effective for an appropriate period of time. These learning units are designed for self-paced learning without direct support of a trainer and are characterised by increased learner engagement and anytime, anywhere access.
The Learning Highlights series covers several topics, including “Digitalisation and Industry 4.0,” which is currently open to all learners, “Energy Efficiency Dashboard” and “Steps in Developing Advanced Occupational Standard”. By taking advantage of these Learning Highlights, TVET personnel can build their own capacities and adapt the content for teaching and learning materials to match their context.
“Digitalisation and Industry 4.0” introduces the extensive developments of digitisation through visual support. By participating in this programme, learners will gain an understanding of the effects of digitisation and changes in the world of work, covering topics such as Industry 4.0 core elements, technology organisation changes, Industry 4.0 Skills Radar, and the advantages of Industry 4.0.

“Energy Efficiency Dashboard” utilises digital technology to achieve various objectives, including energy usage monitoring, consumption recording, and energy loss localisation. Learners can simulate energy efficiency using an energy dashboard simulation application and solve a problem statement called “What a Waste with Legacy.” Thus, they can optimise energy efficiency while lowering energy costs by simulating energy usage before and after implementing energy efficiency strategies and activities.

“Steps in Developing Advanced Occupational Standard” focuses on the development of advanced occupational standards or AOS. Throughout this learning highlight, learners will learn about work process analysis, advanced occupational standards, documenting work-process analysis output in AOS templates, core work processes, and the next steps for curriculum development. Learners will obtain a comprehensive understanding of these concepts and how they contribute to the development of advanced occupational standards.

These Learning Highlights that everyone can access without any cost or enrolment, are in English and available on the SEA-VET.net THINKIFIC platform.
SEAMEO-VOCTECH and RECOTVET encourage people to upgrade their skills through online self-learning, which is the first step towards a brighter future, and continue to work together relentlessly to enhance the competencies of TVET personnel in ASEAN and engage them in capacity development efforts in the most efficient ways.
