GMS FRETA, Mekong Institute and GIZ organized national seminar on “Green Freight: Enhancing Transport and Logistics Business Performance in Myanmar” at UMFCCI, Yangon, Myanmar on 20 January 2017.
The seminar aims to raise awareness of private company in trucking and logistics sector to improve their business performance by implementing Green Freight measures. It was honored by Mr. Lian Cin Mang, Director of Road Transport Administration Department, Ministry of Transport and Communication (MOTC) and Ms. Delphine BRISSONNEAU, EU Delegation to Myanmar to give the welcome remarks.
Attended by approximately 80 participants, the seminar took up several issues such as environmental challenges for freight transport, Green Freight’s definition, government role in promoting Green Freight, Green Freight options/measures, increasing fuel efficiency of road freight, benefit of Green Freight and Logistics as well as good practices around this region. Moreover, it received good support from Thai Department of Land Transport in sharing the knowledge and experiences on Q Mark labelling for trucking services.
