On 12 December 2016, the Sustainable Freight Transport and Logistics in the Mekong Region project of GIZ and Cambodian Ministry of Public Works and Transport jointly organized the seminar on “Eco and Defensive Driving” in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This seminar was aimed to provide the knowledge and experiences on Eco and Defensive Driving and its benefits to transport and logistics companies in Cambodia.
There were more than 100 participants from various organizations both public and private sectors such as Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Ministry of Industry and Handicraft, Port Authority, member of Cambodia International Freight Forwarders Association (CAMFFA), Cambodia Trucking Association (CAMTA), TÜV Rheinland Cambodia and SGC Logistics Co.,Ltd.
During the seminar, the Sustainable Freight Transport and Logistics in the Mekong Region project signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ministry of Public Works and Transport, CAMFFA and CAMTA. This MOU was aimed to provide a framework of cooperation and to facilitate the implementation among project partners in order to improve the truck freight transport system through promoting the development of sustainable freight transport and logistics in the Mekong region.
