PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Within the framework of this project of Thai-German technical cooperation, dolphin facilities were improved and new dolphins were built on the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. At the Dolphin Facilities at km 28.0 a cathodic erosion system was installed, while at km 14.0 eight new berths were constructed and another berth was repaired. The project’s services consisted of financial grants as well as consultancy services provided by Prof. Dr. Lackner & Partners Consulting Engineers GmbH & Co. KG which had been subcontracted by the GTZ. The increased capacity of the Port of Bangkok has to be mentioned as the major benefit of this project.
