Thai-German Cooperation on AIDS

This small project but very effective under the Thai-German Technical Cooperation contributed to the prevention and control of HIV, AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). It did so by developing models for socio-culturally integrated prevention work in cooperation with Khon Kaen University (participatory action-research method) taking into account the special needs of the different target groups – prostitutes, youth, factory workers, etc. The four pilot provinces were Khon Kaen, Rayong, Lampang, Songkhla. The integration of the target groups into the project works and implementation as well as the sharing of experiences made constituted two important elements of the project.
