GIZ receives ‘DCCE Climate Partner Award’, reaffirms commitment to Thailand’s climate action

On 18 August 2026, GIZ Thailand, received the ‘DCCE Climate Partner Award’ from the Department of Climate Change and Environment (DCCE), recognising organisations that support Thailand’s climate change action. The award reflects GIZ’s commitment to working with partners across sectors to support Thailand in achieving its climate goals.

The award ceremony was held at the DCCE to mark its third anniversary. Dr Timo Menniken, Country Director of GIZ Thailand, represented GIZ in receiving the award from Dr Raweewan Bhuridej, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

Since the establishment of the DCCE, GIZ has worked with the Department across various areas, from policy development, capacity building and knowledge development to access to climate finance and international cooperation. Key projects include:

GIZ will continue working with the DCCE and partners across sectors to support Thailand in advancing long-term, sustainable climate action.
