PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In reaction to the UN’s call to increase the worldwide protein of protein in 1967 the Microalgae Technological Testing Project Thailand was started with the aim to cultivate micro-algae and use them for the alimentation of the local population as well as for export.
To this end, research, isolation and cultivation of protein-rich micro-algae should build the prerequisite for the later commercial production of micro-algae and their introduction into the local food market. Despite interesting research results achieved in the course of the project, however, its main objective could not be achieved, since the neither the quality nor the quantity of the produced micro-alga at no time allowed for a certification of the product and a commercialization of the production.
