Thai-German Technology Symposium on Energy Efficient Solutions for the Iron and Steel Sector in Thailand

1 October 2014
Bangkok

The Project Development Programme (PDP), in cooperation with the Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand and the Federation of Thai Industries as well as the Thai-German Chamber of Commerce organized a the first “Thai-German Technology Symposium on Energy Efficient Solutions for the Iron and Steel Sector in Thailand” on October 1, 2014, which aimed at know-how transfer in the sector between German and Thai companies. Earlier in the year, PDP hat conducted a Needs Assessment of the Iron and Steel Sector in Thailand in order to identify most effective technologies to reduce energy consumption. In response to the analysis, the Technology Symposium aimed at strengthening business partnerships between German and local companies for an efficient deployment of such technologies.

Three important technology providers from Germany namely ABP Induction, SMS Group, Siemens VAI Metals Technologies presented suitable technology (presentations available upon request). Furthermore, the company Küttner sponsored the dinner reception of the event. The presentations of the private sector were supplemented by an overview of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) who represents over 3,100 mainly small/medium size member companies in the engineering industry in Germany, making it one of the largest and most important industrial associations in Europe.

Presentation information available upon request.
