Measure Selection Workshop for three addtional utilities

From 23 to 24 August 2017, WaCCliM-Thailand and a consultant team, led by Dr. Woranuch Jangsawang, Associate professor from Phranakhon Rajabhat University, organized a workshop as part of a study “Baseline and Options Study in three additional utilities” for project political partner, Wastewater Management Authority (WMA).

Since the study “Baseline and Options Study in three additional utilities” was commenced in May 2017. The study was aimed to assess greenhouse gas emissions and provide general recommendation on improvement for three pilot utilities, Krabi, Hat Yai and Sansuk wastewater utilities, as a milestone to achieve WaCCliM project’s overall objective “Through the introduction of GHG-reducing technologies, the CO2 balance of water and waste water companies will be improved”.

This workshop was named as ‘Measure Selection Workshop’. During the workshop, different activities were set up to present the result of study in three wastewater utilities, create awareness of climate change impact from wastewater management and promote environment where utilities staffs and WMA working team were working together to develop an idea of implementation plan for future improvement on their wastewater system by reduce energy consumption, improve service quality and ultimately, reduce greenhouse gas emissions from wastewater management.
