GCI III organised a seminar on advancing skills for sustainable management of natural refrigerants
On 23 August 2024, GIZ’s Green Cooling Initiative (GCI) III project, in collaboration with the Department of Skill Development, organised a seminar at Graph Hotel Bangkok to enhance knowledge and understanding of the safe use of natural refrigerants in refrigeration and air conditioning systems, as well as to strengthen the professional network in the cooling and air conditioning sector.
Participants included representatives from the Department of Skill Development, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), the Department of Climate Change and Environmental Quality, the Office of the Vocational Education Commission, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, Supreme C&B Co., Ltd., and trainees from the Department of Skill Development.
The seminar featured a video presentation summarising the joint activities between the Department of Skill Development and the GCI III project, as well as strategies for sustainable training practices. Additionally, a panel discussion was held on the topic “Approaches to Knowledge Sharing and Skill Enhancement in Sustainable Use of Natural Refrigerants”, which covered the benefits, challenges, and future of natural refrigerant management.
Representatives from all sectors shared insights, discussed development strategies for the cooling sector in Thailand, and offered recommendations for enhancing skills for air conditioning technicians. This seminar was a crucial part of the broader effort to promote the safe and effective use of natural refrigerants, while also advancing learning and skill development in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.
