GCI III hosts skill standard examiner training for air-conditioning technicians level 2

On 27-28 May 2024, GIZ’s Green Cooling Initiative (GCI) III Project, in collaboration with the Department of Skill Development, hosted an 18-hour (3-day) training programme aimed at preparing skill standard examiners for the Level 2 certification of air-conditioning technicians specialising in home and small commercial use. This training took place in Chonburi and Songkhla provinces, with a total of 40 participants divided into two groups of 20.

The training focuses on:
- Roles and Ethics: The programme emphasised the understanding of the roles and ethical responsibilities of skill standard examiners. Participants were educated on maintaining high standards of integrity and professionalism in their assessments.
- Quality Assurance: Training included a thorough overview of quality assurance practices for skill standard testing. This covered national standards and the methodologies for preparing and conducting effective skill assessments.
- Practical Experience: Participants engaged in practical exercises designed to prepare them for the actual testing process. They practised evaluating skills, scoring, and reporting results accurately and effectively.

By the end of the programme, participants were well-prepared to carry out their roles as examiners with increased competence and confidence, ensuring that skill assessments are conducted efficiently and professionally. This training is a key component of the broader effort to enhance the quality and reliability of skill standards in the air-conditioning sector
