Climate Change and Urban Planning: Speaking about “Urban Adaptation” on World Town Planning Day

The seminar on “New Urban Agenda” organized by Department of Public Works & Town and Country Planning (DPT) on 8th November 2017, the World Town Planning Day, at the Emerald Hotel, Bangkok.

Mr. Heinrich Gudenus, Project Director of Risk based National Adaptation Project, GIZ participated in the panel discussion on “Deal with New Urban Agenda” where he spoke about Urban Adaptation. His talk focused on socio-economic factors incluencing climate risks, urban adaptation at different levels, possible adjusments for monitorinf and assessment tools, as well as different cases of pilot sites.

The Seminar was attended by representatives from DPT, related governmental agencies, private sector, academia, and local authorities approximately 500 people. The scope of the seminar content includes urban planning and climate change, planning in global perspective, urban adaptation, application of green infrastructure, and Sendai framework.
