ข้อมูลเบื้องต้นการศึกษามาตรการและกลไกสนับสนุนทางการเงินเพื่อส่งเสริมอาคารอนุรักษ์พลังงานประสิทธิภาพสูง ปัจจุบัน ภาครัฐได้มีความพยายามที่จะเร่งรัดให้มีการบังคับใช้กฎกระทรวงว่าด้วยเรื่องการออกแบบอาคารเพื่อการอนุรักษ์พลังงานกับอาคารสร้างใหม่ให้มีผลบังคับใช้เกณฑ์มาตรฐานประสิทธิภาพพลังงานของอาคาร (Building Energy Code: BEC) อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม ที่ผ่านมา โครงการความร่วมมือไทย-เยอรมันฯ (TGP-EEDP) ได้ทำหน้าที่สนับสนุนในด้านวิชาการในการศึกษาเพื่อยกระดับและปรับปรุงเกณฑ์มาตรฐานขั้นต่ำให้เข้มข้นขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่องทุกๆ 5 ปี
