weltwärts – Young Volunteers with GIZ in Thailand

Energy EfficiencyThe weltwärts volunteer program is a program initiated by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). GIZ functioned as one of several German organizations that were licensed to receive funds from the ministry to deploy young volunteers. Former DED, now part of GIZ, was the biggest and most professional deploying organization sending ca. 850 volunteers to ca. 40 different countries in 2010. In Asia GIZ deployed young volunteers to Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Mongolia, Nepal and Philippines.

Since September 2011, 15 new GIZ weltwaerts volunteers started working for 12 months in Thailand.
