Under the framework of the German International Climate Initiative (ICI) by the German Federal Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), the Thai-German Climate Protection Programme (2009-2011) is being implemented by GIZ and its Thai partners to support Thailand's climate policy development and implementation. |
Objectives and ApproachesTo further develop and implement the Thai climate change policy. To reduce climate affecting emissions To increase national and local adaptation capacities To strengthen the role of Thailand in the international community in the field of climate protection The Programme consists of three projects which are closely linked. While the climate policy project functions as a strategic umbrella, the energy-efficiency and tourism projects are mitigation pilots in highly relevant fields:
